A brilliant friend of ours recently left her long-time position as a researcher at NIH because funding is drying up for critical studies. It’s people like Vought — a hard-core Christian nationalist and primary author of Project 2025 — who insist on halting research on projects they can’t fully comprehend in order to provide tax cuts for billionaires who don’t need or care about the extra money. This is not making America great, or fair, or wise, or healthy. Americans are going to suffer because of this funding cutoff.
